Here is some important information on the upcoming GRPA
District Meet that will take place on Saturday, June 18th at Briarwood
Pool as well as the State Championship Meet that will take place July
22-23 at Cherokee Aquatic Center. Please take a moment to read and
respond. This only applies to swimmers 7 and
older. If your child is 6 or younger you can
disregard this email. 2022
GRPA District and State Championship Meet Info Deadline is Wednesday June 8 at 11:59pm. No
later than June 8, you must:
- Complete this link
declaring your events.
- Email Lisa Obser a copy
of your birth certificate or passport (age verification).
Requirements to participate
in the District Meet:
- You swim for a Brookhaven
swim team.
- You must declare if you
are unable to swim at the State Meet and confirm availability to
swim in both the District AND State meet. *You can only swim
in State meet if you swim in and qualify at the District meet.
- There is a $20 entry fee.

District Meet (to qualify for
the State Championship Meet): Briarwood Park Pool 2235 Briarwood Way NE, Brookhaven, GA
30329 Saturday June 18, 2022 (7:15 am warmup, 9 am meet starts) The District Meet includes swimmers from Brookhaven,
Tucker, and other local cities and counties. The top 3 finishers in each
event at this District meet will advance to the State meet (see info.
below).
GRPA State Championship Meet: Cherokee Aquatic Center 1200 Wellstar Way, Canton, GA
30114 Friday, July 22 - 10 and Under Swimmers (Warmups: 7
am, Meet: 9 am) Saturday, July 23 – 11 and Over Swimmers (Warmups: 7 am,
Meet: 9 am) **This is a prelims-finals meet.
- For those that finish in
the top 8 of their events in the morning prelims will qualify for
finals later in the afternoon (Friday for 10 and under, Saturday for
11 and Up).
- Swimmers will have 30
minutes after their race results are posted to declare his/her
intentions for finals (i.e. decide whether or not to come back).
They must either commit or decline.
- If a swimmer commits to
attend finals and does not show, the swimmer will be fined by the
GRPA. Awards will be given away at finals after each event finishes
(i.e. after all age groups have swam each event).
- Finals warm-ups will
begin approximately at 2:45 PM with a finals start time of 4:00 PM.
Practices: We will announce information about July practices and fees
for those who qualify for the State Team.
Meet Event Order: Meet event order is different from our meets. Please
consider this as you select events:
