Kate Nowak is a senior at Emory University who is majoring in History. She has been a competitive swimmer for 16 years starting as a summer league swimmer at age 6. She grew up swimming at Dynamo Swim Club and Echo Ridge and at age 15 began coaching for both teams. She attended St. Pius X high school where she was a member of the swim team, qualifying for State Championships all four years. Recently she founded the Oxford College club team, acting as the president for two years and competed in the College Club Nationals Meet where she finaled in her events. She has been coaching the Briarwood Barracudas for the last two years and she is looking forward to another great season.
Anna Nowak is a Junior at Georgia College and State University and is majoring in Mass Communications. She started swimming at age 6 for her summer league team, Echo Ridge and went on to compete for Dynamo Swim Club soon after. She has been swimming ever since and has competed in many State Championships for Dynamo and qualified for Nationals her Junior year of high school. She had coached and taught private lessons since age 15 working with infants, children and adults. She swam all four years at St. Pius X and qualified for State all four years. In college she continues to compete with her universities’ club team; she was the Vice President her sophomore year and is now the President as a Junior. She has competed in the College Club Nationals Meet for the past two years. Anna coached for the Briarwood Barracudas last summer and is looking forward to working with the team again this summer.
Nicholas Nowak is a rising junior at Saint Pius X Catholic High School. He has been swimming since he was 7 at both Echo Ridge and Dynamo Swim Club. He has enjoyed swimming year-round since then. He is also a member of the St. Pius X varsity lacrosse team and spends most of his time on the field when he isn’t in the water. He has been a member of the St. Pius X swim team for the last two years and plans on swimming with them for the rest of his high school career. He coached for the Briarwood Barracudas this past summer and is looking forward to another great season.
My name is Georgia Brieske and I am a rising senior at St. Pius X. I have been on a summer league swim team since I was 5 years old. This is my sixth year being a coach at my neighborhood pool. I am also on the Pius varsity swim team and competed at the high school state meet the last 2 years. I also run varsity track and cross country.
Coaching swim team is my favorite part of the summer and I am so excited to be a part of the Briarwood family. Go Barracudas!
Nate Wright is a Rising Junior At The University of Texas (Permian Basin), where he is a swimmer and where he is dual majoring in Business Management and Pre-Law. He has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 11 , but has been enjoying summer league swimming since the age of 6! He grew up swimming for Dynamo Swim Club, Metro Atlanta Aquatics Club, and Emory Cudas Summer League team. He attended Providence Christian Academy and swam for the varsity team all four years, placing all four years! He has qualified for meets all the way from divisional meet, to junior nationals. He has been coaching and teaching swim lessons since bout the age of 13, and loves to share his knowledge of swimming, his love for making a difference, and the joy he has for life, when coaching! Nate is a new coach for the Barracudas, but is looking forward to an awesome season!
